Gruffy's list of dog adoption centers in Denver

In my many years of wandering the country with my human, I’ve come across many different creatures–especially during our hikes in the forests and parks. I’ve learned that any critter just wants a warm place to call home, where it knows it’s loved and taken care of.

And what sums up dogs more than “warmth” and “love?” We’re practically made from those, wouldn’t you agree? Which is why it’s so important for us to find a place where we can spread our joy and care, whether it’s with a single human or a huge family. If pups don’t have a home, what will they do with all that adorableness?

Being from the Denver area, near where Variety Pet Foods is located, I’ve picked out a couple groups of amazing humans who do an incredible job of helping pups of all ages find homes.

  • Denver Dumb Friends League – They’ve been around for more than 100 years and is the largest animal welfare organization in the Rocky Mountain region. Their mission is to “speak for those who cannot help themselves, and they devote countless time and energy to helping all sorts of animals survive and thrive.
  • MuttSavers – This group saves unwanted puppies, young dogs and pregnant dogs from shelters with limited space and resources, and then fosters them all until they’re adopted.
  • Colorado Puppy Rescue – These humans rescue young puppies needing homes and provide them with medical attention and place them into an adoptive home.
  • MaxFund – A non-profit, no-kill shelter that takes in and nurtures any abandoned or injured animal and tends to them until they are recovered and have found a home.

What dog adoption agencies and events are active in your area? Help spread the word, and bring some love and warmth to a few pups today.
